The McIntosh-Patterson PhD Studentship
The Angus McIntosh Centre for Historical Linguistics awards one fully-funded three-year PhD studentship. The first studentship was awarded to a September 2015 entrant and a second one has now been awarded to a January 2019 entrant. The McIntosh-Patterson Scholar’s primary research focus can be any aspect of historical linguistics that is within the expertise of the staff of Linguistics and English Language at Edinburgh.
Applications for the second studentship are now closed.
The next round of applications are expected to take place in 2021.
This studentship provides full tuition fees (UK, EU or Overseas) and an annual stipend of £14,000 for three years.
- The successful applicant will have a very good undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline and ideally will have, or will be studying for, a Masters Degree (or equivalent).
- Applicants must be entering the first year of the PhD programme in September of the year of application.
