On the eve of the AMC Symposium, Ranjan Sen (Sheffield) and Patrick Honeybone (Edinburgh) are organizing an informal workshop for anyone interested in (theoretical) historical phonology. The discussion will mostly focus on interrogating the life cycle model (à la Bermúdez-Otero): domain narrowing/broadening, structuralisation as a trajectory beside morphosyntax with mutual influences, the phonetic ‘rule’ module, techniques and data gathering.
For more details, contact Ranjan Sen <ranjan.sen@sheffield.ac.uk> or Patrick Honeybone <patrick.honeybone@ed.ac.uk>.
